- The POS Product by Lot / Serial Number Barcode module enhances Odoo Point of Sale by enabling accurate lot and serial number–based selling directly from the POS interface. Products configured with lot or serial tracking are strictly validated at the lot level, ensuring that only lots with available on-hand quantity can be sold. The module keeps POS and Inventory fully synchronized, allowing real-time stock verification whenever a lot or serial number is scanned. This ensures precise inventory control and prevents errors that may occur when relying only on total product stock instead of individual lot availability. When a POS user scans a lot or serial number barcode, the system automatically identifies the linked product and verifies the available quantity for that specific lot. If the scanned lot has no stock, the POS instantly displays a clear Out of Stock alert and blocks the sale, preventing negative inventory and incorrect product allocation. This functionality allows the POS user to add products simply by scanning their Lot/Serial Number, supporting workflows such as Lot Number Scan, Serial Number Scan, POS Lot Scan, and Add Lot Item Scan.
